Student beaten in law college

I wa shocked to see the video clips of clashes at law college in Chennai when 2 students were beaten ruthlessly by fellow students owing to communal issues. In the complete media glare the incident happened and police were mute spectator to the whole incident. News papers report noted that Police personnel did not receive goahead from the college authorities to act on the issue. Photogrpahs printed in the news papers showed students holding deadly weapons and one student was beaten continuously even after he fell down. Blood was oozing out of his body. Just could not imagine the pain he would have undergone.

Wondering whether they are lawyers or Goondas. How can these students become lawyer or be gaudian of democracy. It will be nice if Human rights organization act swiftly on the issue and make sure that studnets involved are punished. Hope the injured students get well soon.

It all boils down to humanity factor after all. It reminds me of Lord Krishna who says "What have we got to this world to feel for it, what ever we have got is from this world" . Do not understand when will we stop talking about caste and creed. It was created for what reason?

Mahatma in Obama

Its nice to know that our father has been a source of inspiration to Obama and his principles of ahimsa has taught him a lot. Change can be brought in by thoughts and not with weapons. Hope he doesnt get too much in to gandhian philosophy which stands vogue in this fast world.

India will definately have an edge with the US in the diplomatic front. He seems to have soft corner for the sub-continent. His respect for the country will definately help us solve lot of issues.

Is It emotional connect or Media hype

Like evry one im also an observer of US election and i have not seen such an hype created around it. We have not watched our elections so closely when compared to US. I could see my colleagues getting regular mobile updates on the US election. What has it got to do with India? Is it because of the emotional connect that we share with our people settled in the US or is there any chances that change in Government will change the slowdown. I have heard people say that US is the largest consumer of Goods produced so when they do not have the purchasing power it normally results in slowdown across the world. No wonder we have been seeing it right left and centre.

Its also nice to observe the way media writes about election campaign in the US. almost every day we could see US elctions hitting the front page. It also makes me think whether media hype played a major role in creating an interest to watch US elections closely. TV channles are airing live commentry, discussions right from Morning 530 AM. i did not have a chance to watch the news today as there was no power at home. Thanks media for bringing us the latest from the US.

Bowled out

For sure the sport of Cricket is gonna miss the macho man Anil Kumble. We have to be proud of him for having 619 wickets to be placed at No 3. What was worth writing about is the way Australian media projected him, they have given the due credit to Anil. We have to wait and watch the description of Indian media about the wrecker man who can turn the match any side and who can bowl in any wicket. I am not great reviewer of Cricket but still the way he conducts himself on the field is something worth mentioning.

Old women in Kanch

I was at Kanchipuram on a sunday and on my return journey i saw a old women weeping with bus ticket on her hand and she told me that the bus conductor was suppose to return balance amlunt which he promised to do it once he alights at Kanchipuram. THe amount was Rs. 90, which i am sure must be more valuable for the background she belongs to. We advised her to go to the counter and trace the conductor. I am wondering how people do not have the responsibility to settle dues then and there, how come he didnt even have the courtesy for her age. She was taken for a ride for sure. It irked me a lot. Came back with disappointment and anger which i couldnt vent it out...

Where does the fund go....

Recently i saw an article in a magazine about Government monitoring funds received by christian organizations and muslim organizations. Its really surprising to note the inactiveness of the concerened department. What were they doing all these days. When Government wants ordinary citizen to pay tax for hard earned moeny that comes from near and dear from abroad, what was done to check the activities of missionaries or islam community. Many in India start NGO to swindle OPM(Other people Money). Once it was considered as the best business.
Can we have better mechanism to get on record activities done in the past by concerend NGO's till date.

Nosie less diwali

This is the for the first time i did not burst any cracker. Just want to see how it would be. I was at the roof to see how people celbrate diwali this time. Not much excitement near my house at least except for some. What thrilled me most was the fancy crackers that went up in the sky every second from some where or the other. This time i felt there was not much noise in chennai comapred to what it used to be earlier. MAy be coz of the cost of cracker that shocked enthusiast like me. Hope next time, i am part of the major bursting celebration.

Check post trauma

I was on my way to Tirupathi to have darshan of Lord Balaji, it was about 730 am we were at TN-Andhra border. We had to stop to take state permit for our CAB. Not much crowd at check post, we thought we can leave early but the sriver came after 20 mins. During our stop at the check post, we could see trucks entering in to TN were having some rupee notes and as he passed through the post, his hands came out to hand it over to the police who was collecting money like a beggar only difference is this is unifromed forced begging. Dont know how much they need to run their families. We enquired our driver as to how much he paid for the transport officials there, he said starte permit is Rs. 200 and for the authorities to permit the vehicle he has to offer Rs. 250. This was indeed shocking. Going by what he said if 100 cabs take permit at that point they will easily make Rs.2,50,000 this is just a very rough figure, imagine trucks that pass by. People out there must be making Rs.5,00,000 a day. My God with minimum education they are able to earn so much in a day, funny thing is a traffic police office was at the post supervising collections. We can eat only till stomcahe is filled more we eat, we will puke or will result in indigestion but only for these people nothing happens, their crime never ends. Poor truck drivers/owners, to compensate what they pay at check post, they wither carry extra load or have to pass the pain to the consumer. Incidentally even the police officer is one in the society. But i always wonder "where will the money go" "what will they do with so much money" till date havent see any corrupt office to know more about this...their lifestyle. But i have seen RTO inspectors, their face does not have even little shine, they always live in fear-they dont know when they will be caught. Their face is equal to theat of a corpse.

When will this end..luckily private cars can pass through without encountering any pain.

Cricket India

ITs nice to see India win in India that too with a huge margin. Off late on field behaviour of our guys have come down. We all are agressive but should learn to maintain calmness on/off the field. Especially young group of Zaheer, Yuvraj, Harbajan they lack morality in life. Visitors have to be treated with high respect and in sports, we have show the spirit of the game and not spread hatred.

Jodi No 1

I love to watch realty shows and one that started the trend in tamil TV industry is Vijay TV through its Jodi No 1. The show which is on the third version is deteriorating in quality and Kalaignar TV which followed the concept had some changes and is rocking the TRP's. One thing which i wish to talk about is the quality of judges. As audeince we all know how contestants perform. We cannot comment on the performace but we know if its good or bad. I saw the solo round of Suhasini in the last weeks edition and its clear that she did not sink in with the group but i was amazed when judes said "super" "excellent" as an audience i feel that its no more a realty show. Comeptition is competition no wonder who performs. Shrikanth is a lousy perosn to have as a judge. He doesnt know to understand people

See you in the next blog
